05/16/23: Alexandra built her own nest up high in the tree and has had two babies. They’re about 7 weeks old. I’ve seen them looking at me from up above the nest. They’re very curious, but not willing to come down yet. Plus Momma keeps pretty good tabs on them. Alexandra does come down every morning and evening for some snacks. I generally give her various nuts and sometimes spinach and avocado. Her favorite unshelled nuts are pecans, but in the shell she prefers good old fashioned walnuts. Last evening, we shared a banana. Now that it’s getting hot out, I’ll be bringing out her favorite dessert snacks which are frozen grapes on a toothpick 😀. I don’t have any pictures of the babies yet but that will be coming soon. I have a few pictures I’ll share. Nothing specific, just random pictures. Until next time.

Update:

One of the babies has been missing for a couple weeks now and I have to assume has perished. The other one is still here and makes appearances but keep itself high up in the trees and only ventures down to get water but never when people are around. I can’t tell if it’s male or female yet and I’m trying to allow it some space. It doesn’t panic when I go out there but still climbs up higher in the trees.
